We want to invite journalists to cover our events.
Three times a year Dominion Enterprises hosts a hackathon. Our hackathon series consists of a university student focused hackathon, an internally focused innovation hackathon for our employees, and finally we host an external community focused public hackathon. Each event has a unique theme and includes a team based format.
One of our goals is to prevent ‘brain drain’ by reaching out to the community and local universities while creating a fun, innovative place to work. The events are organized by Dominion Enterprises TTAG (Techinical Talent Acquisition Group – Lead by Melodi Albert. While these events are great for recruiting and retention, the real reward is two days of free food, team collaboration and experimental development fun!
Our Next Event
On February 4th and 5th, student coders, designers, developers, project managers, social media and marketing coordinators will work with Dominion employee coaches to develop apps to better student life.
Also…the top prize is a
$20,000 Scholarship, split between a 4 or 5-person team!
We will provide coffee and a light breakfast for the kick-off at 8am on February 12th. Students, some school administrators, as well as Hack U staff and volunteers will be available for interview. The event concludes with team presentations from 3-5pm on February 5th. A panel of 5 judges will select the winners. You are welcome to attend both the kick-off and presentations, or come and cover the event at your convenience.
